As an ITI (Industrial Training Institute) Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial machinery and equipment. Your responsibilities will include performing preventive maintenance tasks, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of equipment within an industrial setting. This role requires a strong technical background, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine inspections of industrial machinery and equipment to identify potential issues and ensure proper functioning.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks according to established schedules, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn components.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems using testing equipment and troubleshooting techniques.
- Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems of industrial machinery, such as motors, pumps, belts, and sensors.
- Calibrate machinery and equipment to maintain accuracy and efficiency in production processes.
- Install new equipment and machinery, ensuring proper setup and alignment according to manufacturer specifications.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Document maintenance and repair activities, including work performed, parts used, and equipment condition, in maintenance logs or computerized systems.
- Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and other technicians to address complex technical issues and optimize equipment performance.
- Keep abreast of technological advancements and industry trends in industrial machinery and equipment maintenance.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians or apprentices as needed.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a relevant ITI (Industrial Training Institute) program in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Maintenance.
- Proven experience as a technician or mechanic in an industrial environment, preferably in manufacturing or production.
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals for troubleshooting and repair.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools, as well as testing instruments for diagnostics.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in identifying and resolving issues.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and other departments.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks requiring bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to maintenance emergencies as needed.
