The Accountant is responsible for managing the financial records of the company, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and providing accurate financial data for decision-making. The role includes bookkeeping, preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, and ensuring financial transactions are recorded accurately and promptly.
Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support business decisions.

Bookkeeping and Record Maintenance:
- Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, journals, and invoices.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial transactions.

Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor expenses and compare actual financial performance with budgets.

Taxation and Compliance:
- Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and advise the company accordingly.

Reconciliation and Auditing:
- Perform regular bank and account reconciliations.
- Assist in internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.

Payroll and Vendor Management:
- Process payroll and ensure timely payment of salaries and statutory deductions.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.

Cost Control:
- Identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Implement financial controls to safeguard company assets.

Software and Tools Management:
- Use accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally, SAP) to manage financial records.
- Stay updated on new accounting technologies and tools.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred).
- Experience: Proven work experience as an Accountant or in a similar role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles, standards, and tax laws.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Attention to Detail: High accuracy in preparing and analyzing financial documents.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication for reporting and collaboration.
