A Counsellor provides emotional and psychological support to individuals seeking guidance for personal, social, educational, or professional issues. Key Responsibilities:

Client Support:
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address clients' issues and concerns.
- Provide a safe and confidential space for clients to express their thoughts and feelings.

Assessment and Evaluation:
- Assess clients' needs, strengths, and goals through interviews, observations, and assessments.
- Develop personalized treatment plans and monitor progress.

Crisis Intervention:
- Offer immediate support and intervention during crises, such as mental health emergencies or traumatic events.
- Develop and implement crisis management plans.

Therapeutic Techniques:
- Utilize various therapeutic approaches (e.g., cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and person-centered therapy) to support clients.
- Stay updated with the latest counseling techniques and best practices.

Educational Support:
- Provide guidance on educational and career planning, including course selection, study strategies, and career options.
- Assist students with learning difficulties and provide strategies to overcome educational barriers.

Workshops and Programs:
- Develop and conduct workshops, seminars, and programs on topics such as stress management, communication skills, and personal development.
- Collaborate with other professionals to create comprehensive support programs.

Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions and client progress.
- Prepare reports and case notes as required.

Collaboration and Referrals:
- Work with other professionals (e.g., teachers, healthcare providers, social workers) to coordinate care and support for clients.
- Refer clients to additional services or specialists when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Relevant certification or licensure as a professional counselor (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT) is required.
- Proven experience as a Counsellor or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of counseling principles, techniques, and ethics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
Working Conditions:
- Typically works in an office or counseling center environment.
- May require flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate clients' schedules.
