The Computer Operator is responsible for the day-to-day operation, monitoring, and maintenance of computer systems and related equipment. This includes ensuring the availability and performance of hardware, software, and network resources.
Responsibilities:

- Monitor computer systems, servers, and networks for performance and errors.
- Respond to alerts and notifications regarding system issues promptly.

- Schedule and run batch jobs, data backups, and other automated processes.
- Ensure that jobs are completed on time and without errors.

Hardware Operation:
- Operate and maintain computer hardware, including servers, mainframes, and peripheral devices.
- Perform routine checks and basic maintenance tasks on hardware components.

Software Operation:
- Execute and monitor software applications to ensure proper functionality.
- Install, update, and maintain software as needed.

Troubleshooting:
- Identify and resolve hardware and software issues.
- Work with technical support teams to address complex problems.

Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of system operations, job schedules, and error logs.
- Update documentation for troubleshooting procedures and operational processes.

Security Compliance:
- Adhere to security protocols and policies to protect systems and data.
- Report any security incidents or vulnerabilities to the appropriate authorities.

User Support:
- Provide basic support to end-users and assist with simple technical issues.
- Escalate more complex problems to the appropriate IT support personnel.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some positions may require an associate degree or technical certification.
- Familiarity with computer hardware, software, and operating systems.
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
