The Area Sales Manager is responsible for leading and managing sales activities within a designated geographic area to achieve revenue targets, expand market share, and drive business growth. Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans and objectives for the assigned area to achieve sales targets, market expansion, and revenue growth.
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, competitor activities, and sales performance metrics to identify opportunities and formulate effective sales strategies.

Team Leadership and Management:
- Recruit, train, mentor, and motivate a team of sales representatives, territory managers, and sales support staff to achieve individual and team sales goals.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to sales team members to improve sales skills, productivity, and effectiveness.

Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, dealers, and stakeholders in the assigned area to understand their needs, address concerns, and drive customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Conduct regular customer visits, sales calls, and meetings to foster relationships, generate leads, and close sales opportunities.

Sales Execution and Performance:
- Monitor and manage sales activities, pipelines, and forecasts to track progress against sales targets and KPIs, and take corrective actions as needed to meet or exceed objectives.
- Review sales performance metrics, reports, and analytics to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement, and implement sales strategies and initiatives accordingly.

Channel Development and Expansion:
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new sales channels, distributors, partners, and outlets to expand market coverage, reach new customers, and increase sales opportunities.
- Negotiate contracts, agreements, and terms with channel partners to ensure alignment with company objectives and standards.

Market Intelligence and Competitor Analysis:
- Gather market intelligence, customer feedback, and competitor insights to stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape, and use this information to inform sales strategies and decisions.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field. MBA is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in sales management, preferably in the FMCG, consumer goods, or retail industry.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets, driving business growth, and managing sales teams effectively.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in sales management software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel within the assigned area and region as needed.
