The Accountant is responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing accurate financial statements and reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Recordkeeping:

    • Record and maintain all financial transactions in the general ledger.
    • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  2. Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    • Generate and present financial reports to management.
  3. Accounts Payable and Receivable:

    • Process invoices, payments, and receipts.
    • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable balances.
  4. Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
    • Monitor budget performance and report variances.
  5. Auditing and Compliance:

    • Assist with internal and external audits.
    • Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other relevant regulations.
  6. Tax Preparation:

    • Prepare and file tax returns and ensure compliance with tax laws.
    • Assist in tax planning and strategy.
  7. Reconciliation:

    • Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
    • Perform monthly account reconciliations.
  8. Financial Analysis:

    • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to management.
  9. Internal Controls:

    • Implement and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard assets and ensure accuracy of financial records.
    • Identify and address any weaknesses in internal controls.
  10. Special Projects:

    • Participate in special projects and financial analyses as needed.
    • Support the finance team with ad-hoc tasks and initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation preferred.
  • Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and MS Office (especially Excel).
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
