Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and systems to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and customer specifications.
- Establish quality goals, objectives, and metrics in collaboration with senior management and department heads.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of manufacturing processes, materials, and finished products to identify defects, deviations, or non-conformities.
- Analyze quality data and performance metrics to identify trends, root causes of quality issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Lead corrective and preventive action (CAPA) initiatives to address quality issues and prevent recurrence.
- Provide training and guidance to production staff and other team members on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, procurement, and logistics, to resolve quality-related issues and implement corrective actions.
- Manage and maintain quality documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, quality records, and documentation required for regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate and participate in internal and external quality audits and inspections.
- Monitor supplier quality performance and conduct supplier audits and assessments as needed.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to quality management.
- Communicate quality-related issues, initiatives, and performance metrics to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with relevant quality management systems (QMS), such as ISO 9001, FDA regulations, or industry-specific quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., Certified Quality Manager, Six Sigma Black Belt) may be preferred.
- Proven experience in quality assurance, quality control, or quality management roles, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong knowledge of quality management principles, methodologies, and tools, such as statistical process control (SPC), failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and root cause analysis (RCA).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and implement effective solutions.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
- Leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team of quality professionals.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in quality management software and tools, such as quality management systems (QMS), statistical analysis software, and document control systems.
- Experience with regulatory requirements and compliance standards relevant to the industry, such as FDA regulations, ISO standards, or Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
