The ITI Technician is responsible for providing technical support, maintenance, and repair services for various industrial equipment and machinery. The role involves troubleshooting technical issues, performing preventive maintenance tasks, and ensuring optimal performance of equipment to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Equipment Maintenance:

   • Perform routine maintenance tasks on industrial equipment, machinery, and systems to ensure smooth operation and prevent breakdowns.
   • Conduct periodic inspections, lubrication, and adjustments according to manufacturer specifications and maintenance schedules.

2. Troubleshooting and Repair:

   • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, malfunctions, and equipment failures using diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
   • Identify root causes of problems and implement corrective actions to restore equipment functionality and minimize downtime.

3. Installation and Calibration:

   • Assist in the installation, setup, and calibration of new equipment, machinery, and systems according to technical specifications and safety standards.
   • Ensure proper alignment, calibration, and configuration of components to achieve optimal performance and accuracy.

4. Parts Replacement:

   • Replace worn or defective parts, components, and assemblies with new ones to maintain equipment functionality and extend service life.
   • Source and procure replacement parts, materials, and supplies from approved vendors or suppliers as needed.

5. Safety Compliance:

   • Adhere to safety protocols, procedures, and regulations while performing maintenance and repair tasks to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others.
   • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety guidelines to prevent accidents, injuries, and occupational hazards.

6. Documentation and Reporting:

   • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repair history, parts inventory, and equipment performance data using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or manual logs.
   • Prepare maintenance reports, work orders, and documentation for review by supervisors or management as required.

7. Team Collaboration:

   • Collaborate with colleagues, supervisors, and other departments to coordinate maintenance activities, share technical knowledge, and address operational issues effectively.
   • Participate in training programs, workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance technical skills and competencies.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Education: ITI certification or diploma in relevant trade (e.g., Fitter, Electrician, Mechanic, Welder, Machinist, etc.) from a recognized Industrial Training Institute.

2. Technical Skills: Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems, with hands-on experience in equipment maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting.

3. Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities to diagnose technical issues, analyze root causes, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.

4. Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to perform precision tasks, read technical manuals, interpret engineering drawings, and follow instructions accurately.

5. Safety Awareness: Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, hazard identification, and risk assessment to maintain a safe working environment.

6. Communication Skills: Effective communication skills to interact with colleagues, supervisors, and external stakeholders, and convey technical information clearly and concisely.

7. Adaptability: Flexibility and adaptability to work in dynamic environments, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and respond to changing priorities and deadlines.
