The Civil Engineer is responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing construction projects, such as roads, bridges, buildings, and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of engineering principles, project management skills, and the ability to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications.

Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Design:

    • Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and engineering analyses to assess project requirements, constraints, and objectives.
    • Develop project plans, specifications, and designs, including drawings, calculations, and technical documentation, using engineering software and tools.
  2. Permitting and Regulatory Compliance:

    • Obtain necessary permits, approvals, and regulatory compliance for construction projects from local authorities, government agencies, and regulatory bodies.
    • Ensure projects comply with building codes, zoning regulations, environmental standards, and safety requirements.
  3. Construction Management:

    • Manage and oversee construction activities, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure adherence to project plans, schedules, and quality standards.
    • Monitor construction progress, resolve issues, and implement corrective actions as needed to mitigate risks and delays.
  4. Budgeting and Cost Control:

    • Prepare project budgets, cost estimates, and financial forecasts, and monitor expenses, resource allocation, and spending to ensure projects stay within budgetary constraints.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities, value engineering options, and efficiency improvements to optimize project costs and maximize return on investment.
  5. Quality Assurance and Safety:

    • Implement quality assurance and quality control measures to ensure construction materials, workmanship, and installations meet industry standards and project specifications.
    • Promote and enforce safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents or injuries on construction sites.
  6. Stakeholder Communication:

    • Collaborate with project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and government agencies, to communicate project objectives, progress, and requirements.
    • Address stakeholder concerns, requests, and inquiries promptly and professionally to maintain positive relationships and ensure project success.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Professional Engineer (PE) license or certification is preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in civil engineering, construction management, or related roles.
  • Proficiency in engineering design software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or Revit, and project management tools.
  • Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methods, materials, and codes.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
