The Accountant is responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This role involves a variety of accounting tasks, including bookkeeping, financial reporting, tax preparation, and budget management. Key Responsibilities

  1. Financial Record Keeping

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and accounts.
    • Process and record financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  2. Financial Reporting

    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
    • Generate and analyze financial reports to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  3. Budgeting and Forecasting

    • Assist in the development of budgets and financial forecasts.
    • Monitor actual performance against budget and provide variance analysis.
    • Advise management on budgetary adjustments and financial planning.
  4. Tax Preparation and Compliance

    • Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
    • Stay updated with changes in tax laws and regulations.
    • Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants as needed.
  5. Audit and Internal Controls

    • Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
    • Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
    • Conduct periodic reviews of financial processes and recommend improvements.
  6. Account Reconciliation

    • Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial accounts.
    • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
  7. Support and Advisory

    • Provide financial advice and support to other departments and management.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
    • Participate in special projects and financial analysis as required.
  8. Software and Systems

    • Utilize accounting software and other financial systems to manage and report financial data.
    • Ensure data integrity and accuracy within financial systems.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Experience:

  • Technical Skills:
