The Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, and assets within the assigned premises. The ideal candidate will have strong observation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to respond effectively to security incidents and emergencies.
Job Responsibilities:
Patrolling: Conduct regular patrols of the premises, including buildings, grounds, and parking areas, to detect and deter unauthorized activity, vandalism, or safety hazards.
Monitoring Surveillance Systems: Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to identify security threats, suspicious behavior, or safety concerns, and respond promptly to any incidents.
Access Control: Control access to the premises by verifying credentials, issuing visitor badges, and directing visitors to designated areas, while enforcing access policies and procedures.
Emergency Response: Respond quickly and appropriately to security incidents, emergencies, or medical situations, including providing first aid, contacting emergency services, and evacuating the premises if necessary.
Reporting: Document security incidents, accidents, and unusual activities in written reports, including detailed descriptions of events, actions taken, and recommendations for preventing future incidents.
Crowd Control: Maintain order and control during special events, gatherings, or crowd situations, ensuring the safety of participants and preventing disruptions or disturbances.
Conflict Resolution: Resolve conflicts or disputes calmly and professionally, using verbal de-escalation techniques and conflict resolution strategies to defuse tense situations.
Property Protection: Protect company property, equipment, and assets from theft, damage, or unauthorized access, including conducting security checks of doors, windows, and gates.
Fire Safety: Monitor fire prevention systems, such as fire alarms and sprinkler systems, and respond to fire alarms by evacuating occupants and assisting with fire suppression efforts as needed.
Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to employees, visitors, and tenants by assisting with inquiries, providing directions, and offering assistance as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional training in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred.
Licensing: Valid security guard license or certification required, as per local regulations. CPR and first aid certification may be required.
Physical Fitness: Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, and the physical strength and agility to respond quickly to emergencies and apprehend suspects if necessary.
Observation Skills: Strong observation skills to detect suspicious behavior, security threats, or safety hazards, and the ability to remain alert and attentive during patrols.
Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally with colleagues, visitors, and emergency responders.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to think quickly, assess situations, and make sound decisions under pressure, while following established protocols and procedures.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to accurately document incidents, follow procedures, and maintain accurate records.
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with other security personnel, law enforcement agencies, and emergency responders to ensure a coordinated response to security incidents.
