- Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence.
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
- Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
- Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
- Circulate among visitors, patrons, or employees to preserve order and protect property.
- Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.
- Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates.
- Watch alarm systems or video cameras and operate detecting/emergency equipment.
- Perform first aid or CPR if required.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and legal guidelines.
Skills Required:
- Proven experience as a security guard or relevant position.
- Trained in first aid and self-defense.
- Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
- Surveillance skills and detail orientation.
- Integrity and professionalism.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment.
- Physical strength and stamina to walk and stand for long periods.
Educational Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; further training in security or a related field is a plus.
- Certification as a security guard provided by a relevant authority.
Experience:
- Previous working experience as a security guard or in a similar role is often required, depending on the complexity of the duties and the level of security needed.
