The Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing construction projects, ensuring that work is completed safely, on time, and within budget. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical knowledge of construction processes, and the ability to coordinate and manage onsite activities effectively.
Job Responsibilities:
Project Coordination: Coordinate and manage all onsite activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and subcontractor coordination, to ensure efficient project execution.
Supervision: Supervise and direct construction workers, subcontractors, and other personnel on site, providing guidance, instruction, and support as needed to maintain productivity and quality standards.
Safety Compliance: Enforce safety regulations, procedures, and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all workers and compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
Quality Control: Monitor work progress and quality to ensure that construction activities meet project specifications, quality standards, and client expectations.
Material Management: Manage materials, equipment, and supplies on site, including procurement, storage, inventory control, and distribution to support construction activities.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily reports, progress logs, inspection records, and change orders, for record-keeping and reporting purposes.
Client Communication: Communicate regularly with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to provide updates on project progress, address concerns, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, expenses, and costs, and implement cost-saving measures to ensure projects are completed within budgetary constraints.
Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve construction-related problems, conflicts, and challenges that may arise during project execution, implementing solutions to minimize delays and disruptions.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, permits, and other legal requirements applicable to construction projects, obtaining necessary approvals and permits as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional education or training in construction management or a related field is preferred.
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in construction, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role overseeing construction projects.
Technical Knowledge: Strong technical knowledge of construction processes, methods, materials, and equipment, with familiarity with blueprints, drawings, and construction plans.
Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to lead and motivate teams, resolve conflicts, and foster a positive work environment on site.
Communication Skills: Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to communicate with workers, subcontractors, clients, and other stakeholders.
Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills to analyze issues, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions to overcome challenges and obstacles on site.
Time Management: Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in construction work, quality control, and documentation.
Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures, with a commitment to promoting and enforcing safety practices on site to prevent accidents and injuries.
Adaptability: Flexibility and adaptability to adjust to changing project requirements, site conditions, and client needs throughout the construction process.
