The Lab Technician is responsible for conducting laboratory tests, experiments, and analyses to support scientific research, quality control, or production processes. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a laboratory setting.

Responsibilities:

  1. Performing Laboratory Tests:

    • Conduct routine and specialized laboratory tests and experiments, following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and protocols.
    • Prepare samples, reagents, and equipment for testing, and perform analytical procedures using various techniques and instruments.
  2. Data Collection and Analysis:

    • Record and analyze experimental data, observations, and results accurately and systematically.
    • Interpret test results, identify trends, anomalies, or deviations, and report findings to supervisors or research teams.
  3. Quality Control and Assurance:

    • Monitor and maintain quality control measures and standards to ensure accuracy, reliability, and reproducibility of test results.
    • Perform equipment calibration, validation, and maintenance procedures as required to maintain operational efficiency and compliance.
  4. Laboratory Safety and Compliance:

    • Adhere to laboratory safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to prevent accidents, injuries, and hazardous exposures.
    • Handle and dispose of hazardous materials, chemicals, and biohazardous waste in accordance with safety guidelines and environmental regulations.
  5. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain detailed records, documentation, and laboratory notebooks of experimental procedures, test results, and observations.
    • Prepare technical reports, summaries, and presentations for internal use, regulatory submissions, or publication in scientific journals.
  6. Collaboration and Communication:

    • Collaborate with research scientists, engineers, and other team members to plan experiments, troubleshoot issues, and achieve project objectives.
    • Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and external stakeholders to share findings, provide updates, and address inquiries or concerns.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or related field. Additional certification or training in laboratory technology is a plus.
  • 1-2 years of experience working in a laboratory environment, preferably in a research, academic, or industrial setting.
  • Proficiency in laboratory techniques, instrumentation, and analytical methods relevant to the specific area of research or testing.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and precision in performing experiments and recording data.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety practices, procedures, and protocols.
  • Proficiency in using laboratory software, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
